Canberra Airport join the Aerosure Tour de Chance 2014 as Corporate Sponsor

Dear Friends and Colleagues

I am delighted to announce Canberra Airport as Corporate Sponsor.for the Aerosure Tour De Chance 2014

Canberra Airport was purchased by Capital Airport Group Pty. Ltd. in May 1998 from the Commonwealth Government. At the time of purchase, the Airport consisted of a small-scale terminal, general aviation precinct as well as the RAAF Fairbairn base.

14 years after privatisation, Canberra Airport now comprises four precincts which include the terminal as well as Brindabella Business Park, Majura Park and Fairbairn, all of which have undergone extensive development.

With the opening of the new terminal on March 13, 2013, Canberra Airport now represents one of the most significant infrastructure projects for the ACT and surrounding region, with a growing role as a national transportation hub, commercial business park and retail destination.

Canberra Airport and the Capital Airport Group have won a multitude of awards in various categories over the years including being recognised by the Australian Airports Association as the ‘Australian Airport of the Year’ three times in 2002, 2007 and 2013.

We will be cycling from Brisbane to Sydney to hopefully raise $250,000 for a wonderful Australian charity called Fighting Chance that is very special to me.

Not only has Aerosure supported the tour and Fighting Chance by becoming the Major Corporate partner for 2014 but I have personally committed my body to the cause as well, and will be participating in the ride for the whole 1,100 kilometres of the tour.

To make your tax deductible donation, please use this link:http://makingadifference.gofundraise.com.au/page/RectorG

You will automatically receive a tax receipt for your donation and the funds will be channelled directly to Fighting Chance.

Fighting Chance provides innovative programs for youths and young adults with physical disabilities.

Unfortunately far too many young and adult Australians with significant physical disabilities continue to lack opportunities to engage in purposeful and fulfilling education, skill development and work experience activities.

The money we will raise through theAerosure Tour de Chance 2014 (amongst other things) will double the current number of places available for physically disabled participants.

I have included below a link below that takes you straight into the Fighting Chance website and gives a lot of detail on how the money raised will be used.

You can find out more about the wonderful work Fighting Chance do via their websitehttp://www.fightingchance.org.au and/or via Facebook athttps://www.facebook.com/fightingchanceaustralia.

In addition, you will be also be able to follow our ride preparations, fund raising and sponsorship progress on our ‘Aerosure Tour de Chance 2014′ websitehttp://www.tourdechance.com.au.

One last thing – can I ask that you please take a minute or two to think about friends in your network that you feel comfortable sharing this with – it is a really good thing that we are doing here!

Thank you very much once again and we all genuinely appreciate your support
