Aerosure and the 2015 Tour de Chance

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

As you know last year I had the incredible pleasure to join 19 other  bike riders on the Aerosure Tour de Chance 2014 to raise money for severely disabled youth in Australia.

We rode from Brisbane to Sydney and raised nearly $350,000 for a wonderful Australian charity called Fighting Chance that is very special to me as it supports my god daughter Ashleigh.

This undoubtedly proved to be the greatest personal challenge I have ever faced, but it also proved to be the most rewarding.

Over 10 days the group stayed together and no one was ever left behind. Collectively a bunch of cycling novices proved that you can do anything if you put your mind (and body ) to it and we exceeded all personal and financial targets.

I can still vividly remember cycling to the Spit on Sydney harbour and being greeted by over 2000 people with tears running down my face and thinking “wow we did it”.

The great news was that we all survived , but most importantly raised nearly $350,000 which went directly into improving the lives of some of Australia’s most disabled young people. Please refer to the attached link to see firsthand where the money was actually spent https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=swXZyZ6s9jA.

As part of our ongoing sponsorship and support I have again committed (for the last time as my body really can’t do it again) to do the 2015 challenge from Manly beach Brisbane to Manly beach Sydney over 9 days from Saturday the 28th of February 2015

My personal target is to raise in excess of $25,000 for Fighting Chance and for this I need your support.

Can I ask you to please dig deep for this worthiest of causes and sponsor me for the ride?

To make your tax deductible donation, please use this link https://www.tourdechance.com.au/#/gregrector.

You will automatically receive a tax receipt for your donation and the funds will be channelled directly to Fighting Chance.

Fighting Chance provides innovative programs for youths and young adults with physical disabilities.

Unfortunately far too many young and adult Australians with significant physical disabilities continue to lack opportunities to engage in purposeful and fulfilling education, skill development and work experience activities.

The money we will raise through the Aerosure Tour de Chance 2015 will (amongst other things) doubles the current number of places available for physically disabled participants.

You can find out more about the wonderful work Fighting Chance does via their website http://www.fightingchance.org.au and/or via Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/fightingchanceaustralia

In addition, you will be also be able to follow our ride preparations and our fund raising and sponsorship progress on the Tour de Chance 2015 website http://www.tourdechance.com.au

One last thing – can I ask that please take a minute or two to think about friends in your network that you might feel comfortable sharing this with. It is a real good thing that we are doing here!

Thank you very much again – we all very genuinely appreciate your support.
