UK Insurance regulator investigating aspect of major airline insurance activities

London regulatory Investigation (FCA) into airline insurance broking activities in London (all major airline insurance brokers are involved).

We have received advice from Willis Towers Watson London, regarding the above.

“We wanted to inform you that the UK financial regulator, the Financial Conduct Authority (“FCA” ), has opened a formal investigation into possible agreements/concerted practices in the Airline insurance  broking sector. They are cooperating with the FCA and have reassured us that this review does not affect your current insurance programme or the programmes that Willis Towers Watson has arranged for you on our behalf in the past.”

Due to strict confidentiality issues with the FCA, Willis Towers Watson are not in a position to comment further at this stage, but as soon as they can share additional information.

Aerosure will continue to be kept updated as this matters moves forward and we will continue to keep all of our clients informed accordingly.
